SimilarAnime helps you answer one question: “I loved this show — what should I watch next?” For thousands of anime titles we build a ranked list of the most similar series and films, so your next binge is one click away instead of an hour of scrolling.

How our recommendations are built

Every recommendation page is generated from real structured data — genres, themes, tags, format, and popularity — sourced from the AniList open database. We compute a match score for candidate titles and rank them, then write original commentary explaining why each pick is similar: the shared premise, tone, or theme that made it a good match.

We do not copy or republish descriptions, reviews, or editorial text from other anime sites. The write-ups on SimilarAnime are our own, built around the underlying data. If a page ever reads like it was scraped from somewhere else, that is a bug — please tell us.

Who runs this

SimilarAnime is an independent site run by a small team of anime fans. We are not affiliated with AniList, any streaming service, or any studio. All series titles, cover art, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used to identify the works being discussed.

How we make money

SimilarAnime is free to use. We earn through affiliate links — when you buy a recommended title through one of our links (for example, on Amazon) we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We also plan to display ads. These revenue sources keep the site running; they never change how we rank or describe a title.
